Why preserve beets for the winter, if you can buy it year -round at any store? This is so, but we will harvest boiled and already cleaned beets, which in winter can immediately be put into business, bypassing the stage of prolonged cooking. Agree, conveniently!

Ingredients

  • Beetroot 1 kg
  • Water 500 ml
  • Bay leaf 1 pc.
  • Cloves 1 pc.
  • Black pepper (peas) – 6 pc.
  • Vinegar (9%) – 50 ml
  • Sugar 1 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tsp

A step -by -step recipe for cooking

Rinse the beets thoroughly and boil until cooked (about 1 hour). Then cool a little, clean and cut into circles.

Fill pre -sterilized banks with prepared beets.

Boil water and pour the beets in banks with boiling water. Cover the jars with sterile lids and leave for warming up for 10 minutes.

Drain the liquid from the cans to the stewpan, add salt, sugar, bay leaf, cloves and peppercorns. Bring the marinade to a boil and boil for 10 minutes.
