Ukrainian dumplings with cabbage

One of the most recognizable dishes of Ukrainian cuisine can be safely called dumplings. They are prepared with different tests and fillings. Today I tell a recipe for dumplings with cabbage. The dish is lean, but very satisfying!

Ingredients

For the dough:
  • Flour 3 cups
  • Water (warm) – 200 ml
  • Salt 0.5 tsp
  • Green onions (for serving) – 2 stalks
For the filling:
  • Cabbage (white) – 300 g
  • Sauerkraut 200 g
  • Onion 2 pieces
  • Vegetable oil 50 ml
  • Ground black pepper to taste

A step -by -step recipe for cooking

Sut the flour in a deep bowl and collect a slide.

Add salt, warm water and knead the plastic dough. Cover with cling film and take it to the side for 20 minutes.

Chop fresh cabbage with thin strips, peel the onion from the husk and chop.

Heat the oil in a pan, pour the onion and fry until golden. Put part of the frying with butter for serving.

Through the rest, pour fresh and sauerkraut. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring vegetables from time to time.

Pepper, turn off the fire and leave for 10 minutes under the lid.

Mix the dough and roll out the sausage of about 4-5 centimeters in diameter.

Cut into the same pieces. Roll each with a rolling pin in thin cakes.

Put the filling on the cake and tighten tightly along the edges. Repeat the actions with the rest of the test and filling.

Add salt to boiling water, pour dumplings and mix. Cook for 5-6 minutes after boiling.

Cut the dumplings with a slotted spoon in a bowl, add a prepared roasting, chopped green onions and mix gently.
